Vodacom Bulls coach Pote Human has denied his side are anywhere near ‘crisis’ mode despite two disappointing losses to start their season.

The Bulls started the campaign with a narrow loss to the Sharks, which ended a nine-match undefeated streak against the coastal side, before failing to score a single point in a scrappy 13-0 defeat by the Stormers on Saturday.

It’s built some early pressure on the Bulls, who were last season’s best-placed SA side, to finally get their season off the ground when they host the Blues next weekend. The fact that they have a bye in round three only means that they run the risk of losing further ground.

However, Human said he was far from getting into panic mode.

‘We had two tough games. To play the Sharks in those conditions isn’t easy and you don’t just pitch here and beat the Stormers. It was 2011 that we last won at Newlands. We could have beaten them here, and I have confidence in these guys to turn it around.

‘We have to calm them down, this was a big game for all of us, the last time the Bulls play here and we were excited to come here and play. I’ve got lots of confidence in these guys to switch and turn it around.

‘There first needs to be discipline, we need to sort that out, and then to score tries. That is the way I want to coach, to score tries.’
