EP Rugby president loses life to Covid-19

Eastern Province Rugby president Andre Rademan has sadly lost his battle against Covid-19 as he passed away in Gqeberha on Tuesday evening.

According to the Herald, Rademan had been in intensive care for the past three weeks and was placed in an induced coma after testing positive for coronavirus last month.

SA Rugby president Mark Alexander confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

“It’s with great sadness to inform you that Andre Rademan has succumbed to Covid-19,” Alexander said. “May his soul rest in peace.”

There was a Covid-19 outbreak in the EP Elephants camp in June, with head coach Peter de Villiers and 11 players testing positive. However, all have recovered.

Tributes for Rademan have poured in from far and wide.
