Boks vs All Blacks in the final – bookies

The Springboks are likely to cruise past Wales on Sunday and into a final against the All Blacks, according to the bookmakers.

INSIDE THE OFFICE: Should Rassie mix up 23? Are we inclined to blame the ref?

While the Kiwi media might not rate South Africa’s chances [read that story HERE], those responsible for pricing up the odds clearly do.

For every rand bet on the Springboks to beat Wales, you will earn just 30 cents while a Wales win earns you R2.80 for every rand laid down. Interestingly, in order for the contest to be matched evenly one would have to give Wales a 8.5 point headstart, which goes to show how much confidence the bookmakers have in Rassie Erasmus’ men.

The margin of victory is also expected to be quite high with the Boks winning by 14 or more points, returning R1.80 compared to a win between 1 and 7 points returning R2.85 per rand bet.

The All Blacks are quite similarly fancied with a rand bet on them to beat England returning 35 cents as opposed to R2.50 for an English win.

To even out this contest, the bookies are willing to give England a 3.5 point headstart while the lowest return on a margin of victory for the Kiwis is also 14+ points at R2.25 per rand.
