Western Province beat the Golden Lions 24-11 on day two of the U16 Grant Khomo Week.
A good balance between attack and defence propelled the Golden Lions to a 11-0 lead, with a try from Cameron Burke and two penalties by Wandisile Simelane. Western Province fought hard in the second half to erase the deficit with their captain Athi Magwala (flank) leading the way with two tries before Benjamin Momberg's try completed the comeback. Fullback Gianni Lombard converted all three tries and added a penalty as WP remain undefeated.
The Leopards put their first day loss to Griquas CD behind them by thrashing Border CD 46-0, Eastern Province edged the Pumas 28-26, the Blue Bulls XV beat Namibia 19-14, KwaZulu-Natal hammered SWD 45-25, Zimbabwe snuck past Griquas CD 11-10, the Griffons narrowly defeated Boland 24-23, the Blue Bulls made it two from two with a 23-10 victory over Free State, the Limpopo Blue Bulls beat Griquas 23-13 and Valke won 13-9 against Border.
