Williams picks Wales team to topple Boks

Pieter-Steph du Toit tackles Hadleigh Parkes Williams picks Wales team to topple Boks

Wales legend Shane Williams believes Warren Gatland’s men will defeat the Springboks at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Writing in his column for WalesOnline, the former wing identified the preferred starting team he believes will beat the Boks in Cardiff.

‘I cannot stress how important it will be to match the physicality of the South Africans. As we saw from their win over Scotland, the Springboks are much improved, but I really believe Wales are just as physical, and offer far more danger behind.

‘There’s certainly plenty of debate when it comes to a couple of positions, and Warren Gatland has a difficult couple of days ahead. But if it clicks for Wales, I fancy them to win. Here’s the team I think they’ll go for. It’s one I believe can topple the Springboks.’

Williams’ preferred Wales lineup – 15 Leigh Halfpenny, 14  George North, 13 Jonathan Davies, 12 Hadleigh Parkes, 11 Liam Williams, 10 Gareth Anscombe, 9 Gareth Davies, 8 Ross Moriarty, 7 Justin Tipuric, 6 Dan Lydiate, 5 Cory Hill, 4 Alun Wyn Jones, 3 Dillon Lewis, 2 Ken Owens, 1 Rob Evans.
