Warren Whiteley has faced another setback in his recovery from a recurring knee injury and will visit an orthopaedic surgeon on Tuesday.
Whiteley returned to training on Monday and was aiming to make his comeback against the Waratahs in Sydney this Friday.
However, he experienced some discomfort, and after the knee swelled up overnight, it was decided that he should be sent for another scan.
Although team doctor Rob Collins suggested it was a precautionary measure, it remains to be seen if Whiteley will be able to join the squad later on in their tour.
In his absence, Hacjivah Dayimani continues to be backed at No 8.
