Vodacom Bulls director of rugby Jake White has expressed his delight about the capture of Springbok loose forward Nizaam Carr from English club Wasps.
On Friday it was announced that Carr had ended his two-year stay at Wasps to join the Bulls, who will also be coached by White going forward.
The 29-year-old Carr, who previously played for the Stormers, is vastly experienced having made 97 Vodacom Super Rugby appearances for the Cape side before switching to Wasps in 2018.
White, who has already lured several veteran players to Loftus from overseas-based teams, says he is looking forward to working with the talented loose forward, who has five Test caps to his name.
‘Nizaam needs little introduction and I’m happy that he has decided to continue his career with the Bulls,’ White said.
‘His ability to perform under pressure will only benefit the franchise while his experience will be used to mentor the younger loose forwards in the squad as well. He has done well in England and it is great to have his talent back on South African soil again.’
