Former Springbok coach Jake White would be interested in taking on the England coaching post.
With Stuart Lancaster’s future in doubt after England’s pool-stage exit at the World Cup, there has been plenty of speculation that a replacement could be in the cards.
On Monday, new Stormers coach Eddie Jones suggested he’d consider the role, and White – who is currently coaching French club Montpellier – has now expressed his interest.
‘England have everything going for them in terms of resources, players and history. If they were genuinely interested and they approached me, of course I would be interested. It’s one of the biggest jobs in world sport and you’d be crazy not to consider it,’ White told the Daily Mail.
White, who has been sounded out about this position in the past, said England had been going backwards since 2003.
