Coach Warren Gatland has made five changes to Wales’ starting lineup ahead of the second Test against Argentina in Santa Fe on Saturday.
In the only change to the backline, Watkin has been fast-tracked into the midfield after Hadleigh Parkes was ruled out with an injury.
The other rotational changes come in the pack, where Ellis Jenkins replaces Seb Davies at blindside flank and front rowers Tomas Francis, Ryan Elias and Rob Evans all earn starting berths.
Prop Nicky Smith, lock Bradley Davies, scrumhalf Tomos Williams and utility back Tom Prydie are the new additions to the bench.
