Utility back Adam Ashley-Cooper and eighthman Wyclff Palu have been ruled out of the Wallabies' match against Argentina with injury.

Ashley-Cooper will sit out the match with an ongoing nerve compression injury to his neck, while Palu is suffering with a concussion.

Both players are expected to make a full recovery for the trip to South Africa, where they will face the Boks at Newlands on 27 September.

Queensland Reds No 8 Jake Schatz has been called into the Wallabies squad as cover, joining scrumhalf Will Genia, hooker Saia Fainga'a and prop Benn Robinson.
