Former Western Province Rugby Football Union president Thelo Wakefield has been appointed as the Leopards Rugby Union’s new business director.
Leopards president André May confirmed the news to Netwerk24 on Friday after the decision had been taken by the Leopards directors on 12 February.
Wakefield, who left his role with Western Province at the end of October last year, will assist the union with their business decisions and transformation.
The Leopards are currently struggling financially, having moved away from their 98-year-old stadium Olën Park as they have been unable to pay for the necessary maintenance.
