Lions prop Jacques van Rooyen has signed a contract with English Premiership club Bath.
His move abroad was confirmed by the Lions in a press release on Monday.
‘He is set to arrive in the West Country ahead of the 2018-2019 season shortly,’ read the statement.
The 31-year-old prop spent the past six seasons at the Lions after joining them from Pretoria Police in 2013. At Bath, he will play alongside fellow South Africans Francois Louw and Michael van Vuuren.
Van Rooyen says he is excited about the challenges of playing in a different environment: ‘I’m ‘ looking forward to testing myself in the northern hemisphere and playing for a club with a great deal of ambition going into the new season’.
Van Rooyen is the latest of several Lions players who have confirmed that they will be heading overseas.
