The Valke kept themselves in contention for a top-of-the-table finish by thrashing the EP Elephants 101-29, while there were also wins for the SWD Eagles and Griffons in the Currie Cup First Division.
In one of three massive results over the weekend, the Valke put the Elephants to the sword in a 15-try demolition job that added to the union’s woes.
Wing Etienne Taljaard scored a total of four tries, while flank Sikhumbuzo Mabuza, No 8 Friedle Olivier and right wing Coert Cronjé grabbed braces for the home side, who climbed to the top of the log

Meanwhile, the Eagles kept themselves in contention with a 54-28 win against the Boland Cavaliers at Outeniqua Park.
Boland flank Tapiwa Tsomondo did score two tries for his team, but it was not enough as they conceded seven to a rampant SWD attack.
The shock result of the weekend came in Welkom where the Griffons beat the second-placed Leopards 40-29.
The Leopards looked set for a win, having held a 21-12 half-time lead, thanks mainly to a brace from centre Gerhard Nortier.
However, Griffons prop Barend Potgieter and wing Tertius Maarman each scored two tries to see them claim a memorable come-from-behind victory.
