The Lions have announced the signing of former Vodacom Bulls and Free State wing Jamba Ulengo on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old made his debut for the Bulls in 2014 but his promising start to life in Pretoria was hampered by successive knee injuries in 2017.
After being left out of the Bulls’ 2018 Super Rugby squad, Ulengo explored the possibility of joining both the Kings and Cheetahs.
Ulengo reportedly trained with the Cheetahs this year and played for the Free State side in the annual Rugby Challenge, ending the season as one of the top try-scorers.
He will add further depth to the Lions’ back-three stocks after the Johannesburg franchise lost Ruan Combrinck to Stade Francais and Sylvian Mahuza to Japan.
The Lions Rugby Company is proud to welcome Jamba Ulengo who will be part of the Lions family for the next two years.#LionsPride pic.twitter.com/2t33P2WAto
