Jamba Ulengo is attempting to secure a move to the Cheetahs after being omitted from the Bulls 2019 Super Rugby training squad.
Ulengo has struggled with a knee injury over the last couple of years. This week, the wing was a notable omission from the wider Bulls squad.
The 26-year-old is now without a contract and has turned up to Cheetahs training this week to secure a move to Bloemfontein. Ulengo was schooled at Jim Fouché in Bloemfontein and played for the Shimlas in the Varsity Cup before joining the Bulls in 2014.
The Cheetahs also welcomed Tapiwe Mafura to training this week after the former Leopards fullback signed a two-year contract with the franchise and may also look to extend loanee Rhyno Smith’s stay.
