Bulls wing Jamba Ulengo will be sidelined for up to eight weeks after a minor operation.
Ulengo injured his knee in last year’s Currie Cup and has since had chronic issues with his tendon. He consulted a Swedish specialist and has since undergone minor corrective surgery, which will keep him out for two months.
In more bad news on the injury front, centre Franco Naude has been ruled out of action for four months due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.
In a welcome injury boost, locks Jason Jenkins and Aston Fortuin (both AC joints), flank Jannes Kirsten (ankle ligaments) and loose forward Tim Agaba (hamstring) are expected to return to full training next week and will be available for selection for the Bulls’ second match of the season against the Lions at Loftus on 3 March.
