Godfrey Ramaboea and Khwezi Mkhafu will make their first Currie Cup starts for Griquas against the Pumas in Mpumalanga on Friday.

Former UJ wing Ramaboea starts in a relatively experienced Griquas backline led by outside centre Kyle Steyn, who forms a centre combination with Christopher Bosch.

Fullback AJ Coertzen and right wing Ederies Arendse make up the rest of the back three, while George Whitehead – back from a stint with the Stormers – and Christiaan Meyer are the halfbacks.

Up front, hooker Mkhafu makes his debut in a front row that includes Devon Martinus and Nicolaas Oosthuizen.

Scrumhalf Izak Burger, a recent arrival from the Sharks, will make his first appearance should he come off the bench.
