Sibhale Maxwane will make his Super Rugby debut as one of five changes to the Bulls team for their clash with the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
Under-fire coach Nollis Marais has made four changes to the backline and one up front.
Maxwane, who played for the Tuks in the Varsity Cup and more recently for the Blue Bulls in the Provincal Rugby Challenge, will start on the left wing ahead of Jamba Ulengo, who drops out of the match 23 altogether.
Jan Serfontein replaces Warrick Gelant, with Jesse Kriel slotting in at fullback to accommodate Serfontein at outside centre. Francois Brummer and Rudy Paige form a new halfback pairing, while Tian Schoeman and Piet van Zyl are on the bench.
In the pack, Lood de Jager starts at No 5 lock in place of the suspended RG Snyman.
