Gary Teichmann will leave his post as Sharks CEO when his contract ends in September.
Teichmann, who played for the Sharks from 1991 to 1999, replaced John Smit as Sharks CEO in 2016 on a three-year contract.
According to Rapport newspaper, Teichmann will not sign a contract extension but when asked for confirmation the Sharks’ communication manager Novashni Chetty said the union can’t comment on the 52-year-old’s future.
‘We don’t react or comment on rumours. If there is news, we will announce any changes accordingly,’ she said.
Former Sharks prop Eduard Coetzee is reportedly in line to take over from Teichmann.
Before his departure, Teichmann is said to be looking to secure a new main sponsor for the Sharks should Cell C decide against renewing its deal.
