Gary Teichmann is set to replace John Smit as Sharks CEO at the end of the season.
According to Rapport, the former Sharks and Springbok captain has great support among former Sharks players and businessmen in Durban.
His appointment is likely to be ratified on Monday, but an official announcement will follow later because several of the Sharks board members are currently overseas.
Teichmann has become a successful businessman since retiring from rugby and is a director at Teichmann Plant and Civils.
Smit, who replaced Brian van Zyl as Sharks CEO in 2013, recently announced that he would leave the role in October.
