Israel Folau scored a try in the Waratahs’ 47-15 warm-up win against the Rebels in Sydney on Thursday.
The Tahs, led by Michael Hooper, gave a number of their Wallabies a run, including Folau, Kurtley Beale and Bernard Foley, while the Rebels also named a strong lineup, with the likes of Dane Haylett-Petty and Reece Hodge.
The first half was a tightly-fought affair, with neither side able to score in the first 20 minutes, despite coming close.
The Rebels were the first to open the scoring with hooker Jordan Uelese crossing from the back of a rolling maul.
However, the Waratahs hit back when Hooper intercepted a pass and ran 70m to give the home side a 7-5 lead at half-time.
The second half was completely one-sided, as the Waratahs ran in six unanswered tries.
Waratahs – Tries: Hooper, Folau, Sham Vui, Lalakai Foketi, penalty try, Bryce Hegarty, Alex Newsome. Conversions: Foley (6)
Rebels – Try: Ulsese.
