Swys de Bruin will resume his duties as head coach of the Lions on Monday after leaving his post as a result of ‘medical’ concerns last month.
On the eve of the Lions’ clash against the Chiefs in New Zealand on 19 April, De Bruin headed back to South Africa due to what was reported as ‘stress-related’ reasons, with Ivan van Rooyen filling in as caretaker coach.
However, the Lions confirmed on Friday that De Bruin would return to his post on Monday as the team continues preparations for the clash against the Waratahs on 11 May.
On Thursday, the Lions also stated that defence coach Joey Mongalo would return to work on Monday, but will undergo corrective disciplinary action after being found guilty of indecent assault by an Australian court.
