Former Bulls and Stormers wing Gerhard van den Heever has been included in the Sunwolves’ squad for the 2018 Super Rugby season.
Along with Van den Heever, who has mostly recently played for Irish club Munster and Yamaha Júbilo in Japan, the Sunwolves also named other South Africans Wimpie van der Walt, Ruan Smith, Grant Hattingh and Willie Britz in their squad for next year.
The Sunwolves squad certainly looks stronger than that from last year, when the Japanese side only managed to win two games.
Sunwolves squad: Keita Inagaki, Asaeli Aivalu, Jiwon Koo, Ruan Smith, Craig Millar, Jaba Bradvadze, Shota Horie, Grant Hattingh, Sam Wykes, Kazuki Imeno, Uwe Helu, Edward Quirk, Shunsuke Nunomaki, Wimpie van der Walt, Willem Britz, Michael Leitch, Fumiaki Tanaka, Yu Tamura, Hayden Parker, Harumichi Tatekawa, Timoth Lafaele, Gerhard van den Heever, Kenki Fukuoka, Akihit Yamada, Lamano Lava Lemeki, Robbie Robinson.
