Stormers sign Kiwi centre

Shaun Treeby has joined the DHL Stormers on a short-term contract as injury cover for their depleted midfield.

Director of rugby Gert Smal confirmed on Monday that the 28-year-old was brought in on a four-month deal to bolster their centre stocks for the duration of the Super Rugby campaign.

'Having lost Damian de Allende, Juan de Jongh and Huw Jones to injury this year we needed some experience in midfield and I am sure that Shaun will have a positive impact here in his time with us,' said Smal.

Treeby earned 50 Super Rugby caps for the Highlanders and was part of their title-winning squad in 2015.
