Promising props Neethling Fouche, Leon Lyons and Sazi Sandi have all signed contract extensions with the Western Province Rugby Union.

Imposing tighthead Fouche has become a regular for the Stormers and WP since he joined the union three years ago and has now signed on for two more years with a view to taking his career to the next level.

Lyons and Sandi come from the Eastern Cape and attended the Western Province Rugby Institute straight after school before going on to represent the Junior Springboks in 2018. Both players broke into the senior squad in the last year, making their respective Stormers and WP debuts in 2020.

Head coach John Dobson said that with the trio signed on, the front-row stock is well set for the future.

‘All three of these players have stepped up to become important cogs in our squad’s engine room and we are looking forward to seeing them develop further over the coming years.

‘We have got some incredible front-row talent at our disposal and having Neethling, Leon and Sazi on our books going forward we can expect great things up front,’ he said.
