Stormers lock Chris van Zyl is set to miss the rest of the Super Rugby season due to a knee injury.
The 31-year-old announced on Wednesday that he successfully underwent corrective knee surgery after sustaining an injury in the Stormers’ match against the Lions last weekend.
While Van Zyl has been ruled out of Super Rugby, he is expected to be fit in time for the start of the Currie Cup.
After a successful surgery to repair my left knee meniscus it brings my @SuperRugby season to a premature end and I will miss the remaining games for the @THESTORMERS. Thanks for all the messages of support. Return to play just in time for the @TheCurrieCup 2018 competition!
