Pumas enforcer Willie Engelbrecht has joined the Stormers on loan after the Cape side’s back-row depth was hit by an injury to Juarno Augustus.
The Stormers have already seen Siya Kolisi and Jaco Coetzee leave the team for move to the Sharks and Bath, respectively, and are now set to be without Augustus for the Rainbow Cup after the former Junior Springbok was ruled out for up to three months.
However, the 28-year-old Engelbrecht, who was in impressive form for the Pumas during the Currie Cup, has added to their back-row depth after recently slotting in with the team.
According to Netwerk24, Engelbrecht, who is also a player of national interest, will be on loan for the duration of the Rainbow Cup.
The Stormers have also successfully managed to convince Evan Roos to make his move to the Western Cape permanent. Roos had joined the Stormers on loan from the Sharks.
It has also been rumored that Deon Fourie could be on his way back to the Cape later this year. The 34-year-old Fourie, who captained Western Province to the Currie Cup title in 2012, has been playing in the French second division with Grenoble.
