Stade Français lock Hendré Stassen has been placed on a temporary suspension after testing positive for a banned substance last season.
According to a statement made by the club, Stassen was suspended by the French anti-doping agency on 10 July after undergoing a test following a Top 14 match against Montpellier on 19 May.
Stade Français have allowed Stassen the time to organize his defence, without wanting to impact on procedures.
‘Stade Français Paris attaches the utmost importance to sports ethics and makes the fight against doping a constant priority,’ the statement read. ‘Thus, is at the disposal of the players, a medical team that provides a personalized and professional monitoring of all staff.
‘The club will cooperate with all relevant bodies and draw the conclusions of the proceedings.’
The 21-year-old joined Stade from the Bulls in 2018 and has made 18 appearances for Heyneke Meyer’s side to date.
