Wynberg too good for Pretoria Boys’

Wynberg Boys' beat Pretoria Boys' 24-17 on the opening day of the St Stithians Easter Fesitival.

The Cape side were good at the breakdown and clinical with the boot. The scrums were tightly contested and both front rows were equally penalised.

Wynberg scored the game's first try through flank Steve Mathew to take a 10-3 lead into the break.

They scored two more tries through flyhalf Dom Coetzer and hooker Christiaan Botha to make it 24-10 with five minutes to go before Pretoria Boys' grabbed a consolation try at the death.

In other matches, Maritzburg College beat Grey High 20-16, Michaelhouse crushed Helpmekaar 52-19, Windhoek beat Clifton 26-19, St Andrews defeated St Albans 31-12 and festival hosts St Stithians cruised past the Schoonspruit Invitational XV 36-5.
