Springbok flank Kwagga Smith scored three tries for Japanese side Yamaha Jubilo in a friendly against defending French champions Toulouse on Tuesday.
The friendly was played at the Stade Ernest-Wallon as part of a new partnership between Jubilo and Toulouse to facilitate exchanges for players and coaches between the two clubs.
It was also a way for Toulouse to thank Jubilo for allowing lock Richie Arnold to join the French club on a short-term loan deal during the World Cup.
Jubilo went on to win the match 29-27, thanks mainly to Smith’s hat-trick.

Smith joined the Japanese club last year and scored four tries in his first season. He will resume his duties with the club going into next season, which will make him unavailable for the Lions.
