The Brumbies have announced the signing of Wallabies prop James Slipper on a two-year deal, starting at the beginning of the 2019 Super Rugby season.

Slipper, who made his Super Rugby debut for the Reds, is looking to resurrect his career after receiving a two-month ban from Rugby Australia after twice testing positive for cocaine between February and May this year.

The 29-year-old, who has played 86 times for his country, subsequently revealed he was struggling with mental health issues but returned to action for a Super Rugby XV against the Wallabies.

Slipper will have to battle incumbent Scott Sio, who also holds the loosehead role at international level, for a place in the Brumbies starting XV.
