Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi could cap a fairytale year in fine fashion after being nominated for the BBC Sports Star of the Year award.
The day after leading the Springboks to World Cup triumph, Kolisi also accepted the World Rugby Team of the Year award on behalf of the national side in early November.
Kolisi has now cracked the nod for this latest honour, receiving this global recognition alongside Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge, Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles, golf legend Tiger Woods, Australian cricketer Steve Smith and USA women’s footballer Megan Rapinoe.
Very grateful for the @BBCSport recognition however this is not about one person. I’m nothing without my teammates & our whole organization. Proud to celebrate this nomination together. #bbcsport #bokrugby #RocFam https://t.co/dAFeOMWglN
