Benhard Janse van Rensburg is expected to start at flyhalf for the Sharks against the Kings, while Sbu Nkosi could make his Super Rugby debut on the wing.
Sharks coach Robert du Preez will need to field a new-look backline following injuries to Pat Lambie, Lwazi Mvovo and Clement Poitrenaud.
Interestingly, Du Preez is said to be ready to hand the No 10 jersey to the 20-year-old Janse van Rensburg, with Curwin Bosch starting at fullback in place of Poitrenaud.
There could also be a double change on the wing, where Junior Springbok Nkosi is set to be deployed, while veteran Odwa Ndungane could start his first game of the season.
Further rotations could see Lourens Adriaanse, Chilliboy Ralepelle and Thomas du Toit earning starts up front.
