Published on September 18, 2019

The Sharks have announced the signing of Blitzbok Werner Kok for the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

As part of a strong recruitment drive, Kok has been confirmed as the last of nine high-profile signings for the Durban-based franchise ahead of next year’s Super Rugby campaign.

Kok previous played 15s for the Pumas and Western Province, but it is in the abbreviated form of the game where he made a name for himself.

The 26-year-old has represented the Blitzboks on the sevens series circuit since 2013, scoring 530 points – including 106 tries – in 240 matches.

Kok is currently playing for Toulouse in the French Top 14, having signed a short-term deal with club as a medical joker for the duration of the World Cup.

The Sharks have already confirmed the signing of James Venter, Madosh Tambwe, Sikhumbuzo Notshe, Henco Venter, Jordan Chait, Michael Kumbirai, Ox Nche and Jordan Sesink-Clee.

We would like to introduce Werner Kok who will be joining the @CellC Sharks family.
