The Sharks have signed Kings pair Yaw Penxe and Thembelani Bholi on short-term deals with immediate effect.
In a move confirmed to SARugbymag.co.za, both Penxe and Bholi have been handed a lifeline with short-term contracts to play for the Sharks after the Kings franchise was placed in liquidation last month, and all their playing activities were voluntarily suspended.
The 23-year-old Penxe put in a good performance for the victorious Green team against Gold in the Springbok Showdown contest at Newlands on Saturday.
Bholi, who plays flank and lock, represented the Vodacom Bulls in 2018 and 2010 but returned to the Kings at the start of the 2020 season before the franchise’s financial struggles escalated.
