Sharks get triple Bok boost

Published on February 19, 2020

Makazole Mapimpi, Curwin Bosch and Thomas du Toit will be available for selection for the Sharks’ upcoming match against the Rebels in Ballarat on Saturday.

Mapimpi started for the Sharks against the Hurricanes last week, but was forced to leave the field early after suffering a head knock.

However, coach Sean Everitt has confirmed the in-form wing has passed his concussion test and will be available to play this week.

Prop Thomas du Toit, who had to withdraw from the Sharks starting lineup just before kick-off due to illness, is also back up and running and in contention for spot in the match 23 this week.

Meanwhile, flyhalf Curwin Bosch has flown back to Australasia to rejoin the squad, after missing the match against the Hurricanes due to a family bereavement.

Bosch’s stand-in, Boeta Chamberlain, who started in Wellington, has however failed his concussion test and has returned to Durban. Lwazi Mvovo has been called up to replace him in the squad.

The game between the Sharks and Rebels starts at 5:45am on Saturday.
