Seven Saffas picked for Baa-Baas

Former Bok lock Victor Matfield will captain the Barbarians against Gloucester at Kingsholm on Tuesday.

The most-capped Springbok of all time will lead a star-studded Baa-Baas starting lineup, featuring four other South Africans in centre Francois Venter, flyhalf Pat Lambie, scrumhalf Cobus Reinach and lock Lood de Jager. 

Former Bok lock Bakkies Botha and Sharks prop Thomas du Toit are on the bench. 

The invitational side, managed by World Rugby Coach of the Year Michael Cheika, include 12 Test players in the starting team and six World Cup winners in the match-day squad.

The Barbarians club, celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, will play against Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday.

Tuesday's match against Gloucester will not be televised on SuperSport, but Saturday's game against Los Pumas will be broadcast on SuperSport 1 and HD1 from 16:55.

Subs: Stephen Moore, Thomas du Toit, Charlie Faumuina, Bakkies Botha, Scott Fardy, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Lima Sopoaga, Tevita Kuridrani, Waisake Naholo.
