Bulls and Bok flyhalf Handré Pollard will only return to the rugby field in February next year.
The 22-year-old ruptured cruciate ligaments in his knee during a Bulls training session in February this year and was ruled out for six months.
Pollard then opted to have surgery on his shoulder, which he injured while playing club rugby in Japan.
According to Rapport, he then picked up an infection, which meant he had to stop rehabilitation on his knee for a few weeks.
Pollard is now only set to return to action at the start of next year's Super Rugby tournament.
