Pierre Schoeman has been named as Edinburgh’s Player of the Year and Best Newcomer.
Schoeman was rewarded for his consistent performances across the Pro14 and the European Champions Cup, having helped Edinburgh reach the quarter-finals of the latter.
The loosehead prop not only picked up the Best Newcomer award – given to the player who has made the biggest impact in his first season at the club – but also the Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.
Schoeman, who has pledged his international future to Scotland, has seen his stock rise since joining Edinburgh from the Vodacom Bulls last year, forming a powerful front row with countryman WP Nel.
He has made 17 Pro14 appearances, scoring two tries and was named Man of the Match in Edinburgh’s victory over rivals the Glasgow Warriors in December.
