The Scarlets upset Munster 10-6, while there were also wins for Connacht, Treviso, Glasgow, Ulster, Leinster and the Cardiff Blues in the Pro14.
The Scarlets’ campaign had been derailed following a string of defeats, which left them in fifth position in Conference B before this round. By contrast, Munster occupied top spot in Conference A. Yet the Scarlets turned the tables on the Munster to get their season back on track.

Wing Ioan Nicholas scored a converted try in the 11th minute to give the hosts an unassailable lead. Munster dominated possession after conceding that try, but they failed to break down the Scarlets’ defence. Flyhalf Bill Johnston did slot two penalties to get Munster within a point at the break.
The same pattern followed in the second half with Munster making all the attacking plays, but the Scarlets’ dogged defence neutralised all their efforts. The only points of the half came via a Leigh Halfpenny penalty, which sealed the win for the Scarlets.
The Scarlets are now up to fourth in Conference B, while Munster sunk to second in Conference A.
In other results, Connacht thrashed conference rivals the Ospreys 46-5, Treviso continued their fine form with an 18-10 victory against Edinburgh, the Glasgow Warriors smashed Zebre 42-10 to usurp Munster at the top of the Conference A log and Ulster battled to a 28-15 win over the Dragons at Rodney Parade.
