SBW leads the way as ABs spread the love

Sonny Bill Williams was one of several All Blacks who teamed up with rugby league stars to spread a collective message in a uniquely Kiwi way.

Williams, Ardie Savea, TJ Perenara, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Lima Sopoaga and Israel Dagg appear in the live video on Instagram, with each player passing on a typical Kiwi head nod to one another.

The rugby participants included Benji Marshall, Shaun Johnson, Adam Blair, Jordan Kahu and Kalyn Ponga.

The gesture was to reiterate that even in lockdown, self-isolation and quarantine during the coronavirus health crisis, people are still interconnected and to encourage their fellow New Zealanders to remain that way.

‘During these times it’s more important then ever to stay connected,’ said Kahu, who shared the video on social media.

‘Please reach out to your family, friends, work colleagues and whoever you think you might need to. Stay home, stay connected, stay active and stay meke. Thanks to the boys who sent through videos – I don’t know if there will be much oxygen left after a few of those.’
