SARugbymag.co.za looks back at the South African players who featured for their respective clubs in the PRO14 this past weekend.

– Defending champions Leinster closed the gap between themselves and Conference A leaders Ulster by securing a 13-10 away victory over rivals Munster on Saturday. Springbok centre Damian de Allende started for Munster, who also had Ireland No 8 CJ Stander and lock Jean Kleyn in their starting lineup. Munster continue to lead the standings in Conference B on 38 points.

– Jaco van der Walt put in a composed performance off the kicking tee to steer Edinburgh to a 26-10 win against Zebre in Parma. Van der Walt, capped by Scotland last year, kicked four penalties and two conversions for a haul of 16 points. Also in action for Edinburgh was prop duo Pierre Scoeman and WP Nel, while hooker Michael Willemse played off the bench. Italy flank Johan Meyer started for Zebre. Edinburgh are second from bottom in conference B on 19 points, but have two games in hand.

– The Ospreys came from a 12-point deficit to beat Connacht 26-20, with Wales scrumhalf Rhys Williams responding to his ommission from their Six Nations squad by scoring a brace of tries. Experienced tighthead prop Tom Botha was on the bench for Ospreys.

– Former Wasps coach Dai Young made a winning start as interim director of rugby at the Cardiff Blues as they beat the Scarlets 13-0 in Llanelli. Scarlets had two South African forwards on their bench, tighthead prop Werner Kruger and loose forward Uzair Cassiem.
