Stade Français have confirmed the signing of South African lock Gerbrandt Grobler from Gloucester on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old Grobler is one of two players, along with Leicester Tigers utility back Telusa Veainu, to join the struggling French club this week.
Grobler is also the latest player to leave Gloucester since the departure of coach Johan Ackermann for Japan.
Grobler, who previously played for Stade’s city rivals Racing in the 2016-17 season, joins the Parisian club on two-year contract with the option of a further one-year extension.

In February 2015, it was revealed that Grobler received a two-year ban from the sport after failing a doping test. The South African Institute for Drug Free Sport confirmed that Grobler tested positive for the anabolic steroid drostanolone after a Currie Cup match for Western Province in October 2014.
