Coach Scott Robertson says the Crusaders are motivated to provide retiring stalwart Wyatt Crockett with a memorable send-off in Saturday’s final against the Lions.
Earlier this season, the Crusaders temporarily renamed their home ground ‘Wyatt Crockett Stadium’ in honour of his 200th appearance for the eight-time champs.
However, Crockett has been left out of the Crusaders’ match 23 for the final, with Robertson admitting it was the most difficult decision of his coaching career.
‘He’s a great man, great Crusader. Highest capped and given more to this team than anyone else. We want to send him out the way he should be sent out, and we promised we would.’
