Former England prop Graham Rowntree has been appointed as Georgia’s forwards coach until the end of the next year’s World Cup.
The 47-year-old retired in 2007 and immediately took up a coaching position at the Leicester Tigers, the club he played for throughout his career.
Coaching stints with England (from 2007 to 2015) and the British & Irish Lions (in 2013 and 2017) followed, before he joined Harlequins in 2016. Rowntree vacated his position as Quins’ forwards coach in June 2018.
Georgia are grouped with the Wallabies, Wales, Fiji and Uruguay in Pool D.
