Rugby Australia boss Raelene Castle has rejected the suggestion that incoming Wallabies coach Dave Rennie could desert Australia over the leadership uncertainty plaguing the game.
Rumours have been circulating that Rennie would reconsider his future as Wallabies head coach if Castle were to get stood down as RA’s chief executive.
But Castle has come out and quashed the rumours, saying she is confident that Rennie is ‘absolutely committed’ to his job as incoming Wallabies coach and will join the team set-up, as expected, in June after the completion of his commitments with PRO14 side the Glasgow Warriors.

‘Dave is absolutely committed to Australia and I am absolutely committed to seeing the business through these difficult times and ensuring that we can see the Wallabies back playing Test matches with the new coaching team that we worked really hard to put together,’ Castle said.
‘I know that Dave and [assistants Scott Wisemantel and Matt Taylor] are working really hard doing the groundwork to make sure the Wallabies are going to be as prepared as they can be and we have a world-class practitioner in John Pryor leading our athletic development programme. I’m really excited to see that coaching team coach the Wallabies.’
