Over 70% of votes in an online poll went in favour of Lukhanyo Am retaining the Sharks captaincy even when Siya Kolisi makes the move to Durban.
Kolisi’s departure from WP was confirmed on Sunday, and it’s expected that he will be officially confirmed as the Sharks’ new recruit this week.
In a SA Rugby magazine poll that was run on Twitter, more than 700 votes were cast, with 71.7% in favour of Am staying on as captain, while 23.4% suggested Kolisi should take over the leadership. Just 5% were in favour of ‘an other’ player.
As it is, it’s believed that Am is indeed likely to continue in the captaincy role, allowing Kolisi to rather settle in at the Sharks and focus solely on his game.
With Siya Kolisi’s move to @TheSharksZA confirmed, who should captain the side going forward?
