Pumas deserved Bok scalp

Argentina were worthy winners against the Springboks in Salta, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.

The Pumas won 26-24 to claim their second Bok scalp in two years.

Argentina had 53% of the possession (including 57% in the first half), made 467 running metres compared to the Boks' 324 and 18 clean breaks to eight. The Boks were forced to make 112 tackles, of which they missed 18, while the Pumas missed 16 out of the 95 tackles they attempted.

The Boks' goal-kicking also cost them as they missed three penalty goals and a conversion, while the Pumas kicked both of their conversions and all four of their penalty goals, including one in the 78th minute that snatched victory.
