The Pukke Festival got off to a dramatic start in Potchefstroom, headlined by two shock defeats.

Minnows Klerksdorp comprehensively beat favourites Framesby 32-23, while HTS Drostdy suffered a shock 27-25 loss to hosts Potchefstroom Gymnasium.

Garsfontein restored the status quo with a comfortable 39-30 victory over Boland Landbou.
