The two Pro14 conferences will remain unchanged for the 2018-19 season to ensure a balance of fixtures following the competition’s expansion last season.
This decision comes after consultations with clubs across the Pro14 to determine the best course of action for the championship and all the teams that compete in it.
The overriding factor in this decision was the ability to ensure equal home and away fixtures for each team across a two-year window.
The Cheetahs are once again placed in Conference A along with Glasgow, Munster, Cardiff, the Ospreys, Connacht and Zebre.
The Kings are in Conference B which contains defending champions Leinster, the Scarlets, Edinburgh, Ulster, Benetton and the Dragons.
Both South African teams have been handed two away matches in the opening rounds in September.
The Cheetahs will take on last season’s semi-finalists Munster on 1 September, while the Kings travel to Italy to face Zebre on the same day.
The Bloemfontein-based team will then face the Ospreys with the Kings taking on the Dragons.
Both teams will have their first home game during the third weekend of the season, with the Cheetahs up against the Glasgow Warriors in Bloemfontein on 15 September and the Kings facing Ulster on 16 September in Port Elizabeth.
The Kings will host the first derby match between the teams on 19 January, with the other two matches scheduled for 2 February and the weekend of 25 April.
